We are getting closer to Jack's arrival, and although it hasn't felt very much like fall around here, we are enjoying the month of October. On October 12th, the dear ladies of our church, Bethel Methodist, hosted a lovely baby shower for Kamie and Jack. They did a wonderful job of blessing baby Jack, praying that he would grow into a young man who loves the Lord with all his heart. It means so much to us to know that Jack is going to be born into such a loving church family!
We are also enjoying Josh's new work schedule, where he works one 24 hour shift and then has two full days of rest at home! We've used the time off to explore some nearby State Parks, including the Guadalupe River State Park (above) and the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Ranch, which is home to the "Texas White House". Both locations are simply beautiful and we are reminded of how blessed we are to have our home in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. (Josh is standing in front of LBJ's famous convertible Lincoln that he liked to drive guests around his ranch.)
In our free time, Josh likes to relax and the cats love to have him home! We've been taking some funny pictures of our cats - like the one I accidentally caught of Mr. Darcy jumping from our closet shelf below. We joke that soon all of our "great cat photography" will turn into baby photography!
And finally, as we count down to baby Jack, Jake and Sarah continue to be loving older siblings and are so anxious for Jack's arrival. Sarah told friends at church, "I want my baby brother now!" We have just about everything ready in case Jack decides to come a little early. Josh put together the stroller and car seat, the clothes/blankets are washed and our hospital bags are packed! We are all so excited!
We'll keep you posted on baby and family news! We love you and miss you!
