Home from North Carolina!

We just got home to Ohio from a week-long visit in North Carolina with Jeff, Meredith, Luke and Ben! Jack (as always) did really well on the long road trip and marked of his 15th and 16th states visited! He is quite a traveler at almost 11 months old. Jack absolutely loved playing with his cousins and their many trucks and books. The boys were so loving to one another, often stopping in the midst of play to kiss one another or come over and give a hug. Jack learned to listen to stories as Mommy read to Luke and Ben as well.On Friday, we got to visit a local farm, go on a hay ride and pick pumpkins to take home with us. Meredith and I had our hearts set on getting a fall picture of all three boys with pumpkins, but Jack fell fast asleep on the hay ride and could not wake up to take the picture we had in mind. But...we got a few shots of sleeping Jack with the pumpkins! Jack truly enjoyed interacting with Luke and Ben. Luke shared his high chair so that Jack could eat at the table with us. But it usually frustrated Luke (who pays a lot of attention to being neat and clean) when Jack tried to eat his own food. Luke would say, "Jack makin' a mess!" :-) This picture says it all! Jack just blended right in with the activities of Luke and Ben, as if he was the missing Musketeer. They all took baths together, took turns riding together in the double stroller and shared just about everything. It was so neat to see how all three boys were so willing to share and include the others. On Tuesday, we were heading back to Ohio when we got a phone call from Mer telling us that she had slipped from the stairs in her house and had injured her ankle. She was home alone with Luke and Ben, almost 34 weeks pregnant and in need of help, so we turned around and spent an extra two days to help out. Kamie stayed home with the three boys when Josh took Mer to the hospital and in order to keep Luke from crying about his Mommy being hurt, she had to keep them all busy with walks outside, making cards for Mommy and "cleaning" the kitchen. All three boys took the job very seriously and did it for about 40 minutes. This picture shows the little workers in action! Thank you Mer, Jeff, Luke and Ben for a good visit. We'll keep praying for you - especially for your ankle to heal so that you can get ready for baby girl in a few weeks! We love you and miss you already!

Gotta love the "Traveling Jack photos"..he looks very happy to be on another road trip! The pictures of the 3 cleaning, playing and bathing are priceless! Make it a yearly event...what a set of memories for them to have of growing up together! And once more, the contemplative pumpkin shot...one of my all time favorites! This Grammy is enjoying her boys long distance...thanks!
