You can imagine our delight when we saw that the small fruit is called a "Baby Jack" fruit! :-) They come from Sri Lanka.
The produce is unbelievable. There are so many different kinds of eggplants, cucumbers, bananas and numerous other things. We are going to try something new each time we go to the store.
As is the case wherever we go, Jack was a star at the store. The Asian women at the deli counter loved him! One said, "Look at his eyes....he have Chinese eyes!" :-) Another woman asked us if we were new here, since she had never seen us before. She asked us to come back often so she could see Jack. She let us taste lots of things like goat cheese from Lebanon, pickled vegatables, etc. Jack loved the soft goat cheese. The Indian men who bag groceries also liked Jack...as you can kind of see (despite their somewhat blank expressions)!
Love and hugs from a haven of interesting foods....
Josh, Kam and "Baby Jack" :-)
