Weekend Fun!

Our new life in Nevada is continuing along beautifully.  We are really enjoying the beautiful weather, settling more into our new home and making new friends.  This weekend, we finally found a church to call home and are so grateful to the Lord for orchestrating it all through my friend Rachel in Pennsylvania!!!  He is so good!

We had even more to enjoy in the past couple of weekends.  Earlier in the month, we took a 2 1/2 hour drive to Death Valley in California.  (It was a new state for all three boys!)  The park is just visually stunning....so hard to accurately capture in pictures.  We were able to visit the lowest spot in the U.S. at Badwater Basin, which is 282 feet below sea level! 

 We are really amazed to be living in this new part of our beautiful country - with big open skies and landscapes, mountains and deserts and amazing sunsets!

The following weekend, we had our first weekend visitors from Phoenix!  My sister Reagan, her husband Adam and their three little ones:  Tessa, Nate and Danny.  It was such a joy to be able to open up our home to family, who only had a 4 1/2 hour drive to get here!  We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend...watching the cousins play and make memories, having picnic lunches, a fondue dinner night and time together in jammies with books!

Here are some other fun shots of the boys around our home.  Joe just loves to read books.  He has a little basket near the book shelves with his board books and can often be found sitting on the ground reading one of them or bringing them to Daddy or Mommy to read. 

 Though we do have some artificial turf in the backyard for the boys to play on, they seem to be drawn to the only non-gravel covered patch of dust in the back corner.  Sigh.  They make huge race tracks for their cars and can play all day out there if left on their own.  We've devised a system of having a soapy bucket of water and beach towel by the back door, so they have to scrub down before they come in the house.

We've all had fun resting on the hammock!   (This was Nate's favorite place to lay with his Mommy when they were here last weekend!)

 Joe is such a ham bone...and makes us all laugh every day.  He is running all over the place now and keeps Mom and Dad on our toes. 

While we love his amber-colored locks, the front part of his hair was beginning to look a little scruffy, so we gave him his first hair trim on Saturday night.  He was such a good sport about the whole thing!

 Where did my baby go????  How can cutting a few locks make a baby look like such a big boy??  But quite a handsome boy, at that!
