Our Joe - my baby - is now SIX YEARS OLD!
Our theme for this birthday is A.A. Milne's poetry book "Now We Are Six" - with a poem celebrating the special occasion of becoming six! Joe has loved reading through all the Winnie the Pooh stories this year, so it seems all too fitting a theme for his special day!
Though it may seem like Joe-overload, I picked out some of our boy's highlights of his past year. And what a year it was! A trip to the California Redwoods, selling the only home he remembers, moving into a new house, flying on a plane to the state of his birth to move Grandma out with us, starting kindergarten...whew!
He also gives us a run for our money when playing chess!
He is so intense, we thought he may have broken a bone when he fell running for home base during whiffle ball! It was just a sprain...no broken bones...yet!
He loves to do whatever his big brothers are doing, even if it means he needs Dad's help to keep up.
And despite his adventurous nature...he is still very much his Mama's boy.
He is really enjoying Kindergarten at home with his Mom and brothers. He loves handwriting worksheets and his math workbook...well, everything.
Joe is such a gift to our entire family! His smile, his diligence, his strong will, his willingness to still be held and cuddled, his inquisitive nature....we are so grateful for him!
Happy 6th Birthday, sweet Joe!
Post-Birthday Update:
Joe's "Now We Are Six" birthday was a hit! He loved his cake....and loved his classic Pooh, Piglet, Eyeore and Tigger stuffed animals. He picks one each night to sleep with and said, "I always hoped someone would give me Pooh."
