Happy Birthday Dad!

My sister, Meredith, was thoughtful enough to post a wonderful tribute to my dad on her blog, since it is his 60th birthday today. I'd like to join her in thanking my dad for all of his love and hard work over the years. I wish we could be in Phoenix with the rest of my family to celebrate his birthday, but we will be there in our hearts. It is my prayer that he will have time for rest and for celebrating his growing family in the years to come...and that he will jump whole-heartedly into the role of "Papa" to the next generation of kids. Thank you, Lord, for a Dad who was always willing to work hard for his family and to show tender love to all of us.

Here are a few pictures of my Dad...and a few of the special moments we've had in the past few years.(Pinning on my First Lieutenant bars in 2004.)

(Joking around with his boys, Jake and Nick, at Meredith's wedding in 2005.)

(Always willing to help with house projects....at my 1850 Delaware home in 2006.)

(At my wedding, July 4, 2006. Though we had a small wedding at home soon after Josh returned from Iraq, he flew out to be able to "walk" me down the aisle. The night before, my dad stayed up with me to help make the wedding cake and flower arrangements. I'll never forget those moments.)

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Bravo Kam! Your words, but moreso your lives show great tribute to Dad. Hold you hugs until May and share them then...we love and miss you all! Always, Mom
