Enjoying January in Curacao

Well, I've fallen woefully behind in my blogging in 2013....but we hope this collection of images and video clips will make up for it!

January in Curacao has been lovely! It is still very warm and the intense sun during mid-day can exhaust you, but there is almost always a nice breeze and we've had good rain to keep things green.

The boys spend about 80% of their waking hours outdoors...playing with our neighborhood friends, Annabelle and Lila, riding bikes, racing cars down the neighbors' sloped driveway, helping in the garden (notice our watermelon, tomatoes and peppers!) and enjoying our new blessing of a pool that was given to us by a neighbor. When not outside, they spend HOURS playing with their train set or their cars.  It amazes us to watch even George play and concentrate and create conversations between his trains and cars....such imaginations!

This month they also met Josh's friend and coworker, Mike, whom they took to immediately - you'll see George comfortably feeding Mike pieces of pineapple!

And...maybe we need an explanation about the hair! We've decided to let the boys' hair grow until we get back to the States! (This is Josh's plan.) This means that they are looking more and more like surfer kids every day and that bedhead is outrageous!

At the end of the montage, you'll see a clip of some of the kids at church one Sunday, conducting their own mini worship service...with George happily playing along, and Jack singing his own sweet version of our "Alabare!" praise song from church. May his voice and praise bless the Lord as much as it has us!

I'm not sure that words can capture the full capacity of my feelings toward this post. Their hair....oh, their hair. And George delicately running around in circles on the beach- I just don't even...know...what...to say. PRECIOUS little beach boys. I MUST SQUEEZE THEM SOON!!!

You were not kidding about them looking like surfer dudes! They look so similar these days, I can almost not tell them a part when I see them seperately. Weird to see beach shots in January! Love you guys!
