Baby Update - 16 Weeks

The boys and I are finishing up our stay in Arizona, enjoying the spring weather and lots of family time.  Today, we hit the sixteen week mark with Baby #3...and here is what the "baby bump" is looking like now!
We thought we'd do something unique this time around...so Jack, George and I, along with my sister Gentry, went to a private 3D/4D ultrasound facility here in Phoenix.  Since we will be heading back to Curacao just as we would be having the normal 18-20 week ultrasound, we decided it might be fun to find out the gender of the baby before we left.

The boys were amazed at their first views of the new baby, projected on a big screen for them to see.  Josh was on the phone with me the whole time, so he heard the baby's heartbeat, too.
The baby is still so young and early in development, the face doesn't have that full, cute look yet....but we still think he is precious!

Yes...I did write HE!  We are having another boy!!!!  We are really thrilled to be blessed with another boy to add to our beautiful mix!

The boys each got to come home with a stuffed animal that has the baby's heartbeat recorded to it.  They hugged them to sleep last night, saying, "I love my baby brother!"
One of the reasons we are so happy to have a boy is that we had always hoped to have a child named Joseph, after our dear "adopted" Grandpa Joe Cicchinelli.  Grandpa Joe is one of the dearest people to our family - a decorated World War II paratrooper, wounded, taken as a POW and affected deeply for life by his time serving in Europe during the war.  We always make sure to visit Joe whenever we are in Phoenix.  The boys and I have had two visits while we were here.  We treasure each moment we get with him, because at 89, with failing health, we know he won't be around forever.  It was a wonderful thing to get to tell him that our next baby is going to be named Joe, after him.

The Lord has blessed us richly, and we are grateful!  We appreciate your continued prayers for our family and for our growing baby boy!

With love,
Josh, Kam, Jake, Sarah, Jack, George and Joe  :-)
