Last week we had two exciting things: Grammy coming to visit from Arizona and several snow days!!! We are glad Grammy got to enjoy a wintery week before heading back to Arizona and the boys all loved having special time with BOTH Grandmas at once! On night as we headed up to bed, Georgie said, "Goodnight two Grandmas!" Here is a conglomeration of pictures of our week with Grammy and snow...and some of the Christmasy activities we've been doing.
Also - just an update to those of you who may be wondering what the Meyer family is planning to do...we've decided that the boys and I will stay here in Ohio while Josh finishes out his contract in Curacao the first week of February. He will fly home on Christmas day and spend four days with us before heading back. We prayed for clear guidance about what to do and the Lord provided very clear answers. We know our time in Curacao is done and we are waiting in faith for what God has planned next for us. We'll keep you updated as we find out more. In the meantime, we are enjoying our winter weather and time here in Ohio...but missing Josh terribly.
As an early Christmas present, we got the boys a Polar Express train to go under the tree. After a few technical difficulties and an exchange, we finally got one that works and that the boys LOVE!
One outing we took while Grammy was here was to the National Museum of the Air Force. The boys were thrilled to see all of the planes, from the first Wright flyers through modern-day air and space craft....but their enthusiasm waned just after the World War I exhibit, so we made the rest of the tour rather quickly.
Most of the time we spent at home, enjoying the winter weather, Christmas activities and letting the boys create pillow obstacles to jump over!
It has been fun to watch icicles form and get longer as water melts then re-freezes. Jack and George call them "ice popsicles"!
Grammy loving on her #20 grand baby!
...and on all the boys!
On Saturday, the snowfall was simply beautiful. Mom's flight was rebooked for the next day, so she got to enjoy one more day of snow!
Grammy looked quite the part in her festive winter gear!
Jack is Grandma Barb's helper each time she has to shovel the driveway.
And one day the conditions were PERFECT for building a snowman! (Complete with a carrot nose and coal eyes!)
Two Grandmas!
We made snow globes, which Jack gave as gifts to our children's librarian and his two teachers at AWANA.
And Jack and Grammy made three foam Christmas buildings together.
We are grateful for our (all-too-short) visit from Grammy! We have lots of hugs and memories to get us through to the next visit. Thanks, Mom, for loving on all of us...we miss you!
