I am a few days late, but wanted to get in Joe's third month update before the end of this year. Without a doubt, our Joe was the best part of 2013! He is the most loving, sweet-tempered, smiley boy and is a delight to everyone who meets him. My friend Joan told me during one of my really difficult moments during pregnancy that she knew the Lord intended for this baby to be a particular joy to me. And he certainly is!
He is growing so fast, it is hard to keep up with him. He now weighs 19 lbs 1 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. He is wearing 9 month clothes...and at this rate, probably not for too much longer.
This month he began to really smile and laugh out loud, mostly at anyone smiling at him or the boys playing peek-a-boo, etc. He has also rolled over almost the whole way from back to tummy. He holds his head up really well and loves to look around. He is really a social little thing - he is pretty happy as long as he has someone to watch or interact with him.
We had fun getting ready for Christmas, having a visit from Grammy and welcoming Daddy home for a short visit. Unfortunately, the end of our 2013 included a terrible run-in with the RSV virus, which hit all three boys and is even now making it hard for Joe to breathe. He took his first trip to the ER at Dayton Children's hospital, where they did a deep suction and told me what to do to help him at home. (I've included a photo of my other sick boys below...the poor little guys!)
We are so grateful for our 2013 blessing of Joe and all of the other good gifts God has given. We look forward to 2014 - and health - in the new year!

Sweet, sweet Baby Joe...and poor sick Jack and Georgie. I feel so bad that you all are having to deal with this flu crud far away from us. Grammy sure loved her time to kiss and hug on Joe, and the others as well. Slow down Joe..you're gonna pass your brothers by!! Love and miss you all, hugs and kisses, Grammy
Oh he is just too precious for words! Give him lots of kisses for us!
I'm sorry they were all sick! Hope they are better now.
