Joe is 8 months!

Baby Joe is 8 months old!  He is getting to be such a big boy...all four front teeth in, sitting up completely by himself, standing on strong little legs with support...and continuing to make us all smile with his grins and enthusiasm for life!

As in other months, this has been one filled with some health issues.  He was sent to an audiologist to test his hearing and ear functions at the beginning of May.  He has had fluid in his ears constantly since January, which can take a toll on young ears.  So far, there was no evidence of hearing loss.  But he failed two other tests which check the accuracy of ear drum motion, etc.  This means he's on the road to hearing loss if something isn't done quickly - so we are off to an ENT at the beginning of June and will most likely see Joe with a set of tubes in his ears.

He is starting to eat a little more food.  No baby food or pureed stuff, which seems to make him gag.  But he loves a few blueberries or peas or small pieces of apple or pear.  He may just skip the baby food stage altogether!

He loves to sit in my lap as I read books to the boys.  He loves playing with toys, but needs a continual rotation of new ones introduced to keep him busy.  He is amazingly alert and active, but still our sweet Joe.  He wants so badly to be involved with whatever the boys are doing!  Only a matter of time!

This month Joe also saw two new states: Tennessee and Alabama!  (But more on that in a different post.)

We love this smiley, round little guy so much and he adds so much to our family!  Each day with him is such a blessing.

Poor Joe and his little ears. Caden has also battled with fluid in his ears. He just had his second set of tubes placed and his adnoids out. Since the tubes Caden passed both hearing tests! Prayers tubes will do the same for Joe.
