This is his second birthday being surrounded by a family who loves him! We had to wait for Dad to get home to have his birthday dinner (tonight), but we had a few days of celebrating already!
We took cupcakes to share with Toby's class at school on Friday. The little brothers were good helpers, delivering the treats and interacting with the class. One little girl gave Toby a present with the following note attached:
I was so touched by her thoughtfulness and by the clear fact that our boy is well loved by many, many people. Saturday, I took the boys to see the Lego Batman movie and have lunch at McDonald's - Toby's request! On his actual birthday, we had the room decorated in a Star Wars theme and he got to open a few presents.
When he opened his huge Lego Star Wars set - something Jack and George had picked out for him - he excitedly said, "I don't believe it!"
He and his brothers spent SIX HOURS completing the set! Stopping only for church and lunch. :-)
One of Toby's greatest joys - and greatest skills - is meticulously putting together Lego sets. He loves to follow visual directions and spends hours building various Lego creations. It was no surprise he got this one done in one day!
His first gift of the day was actual a weighted fleece blanket I made for him. He just loved it and even wanted to take it to church to show people! His first night with it on him, he slept very soundly!
We are so grateful for our son and for the chance to celebrate every birthday with him from now on! He is loved and cherished and we pray that every time his birthday rolls around, he knows how much he was WANTED and loved, right from the beginning!
Now...off for our Star Wars party! :-) (With lasagna - Toby's request!)
