Summer school

After returning from our trip to Phoenix we picked up Jake and Sarah after their fun vacation in Florida with their mom and step dad. We've had lots of fun at home, playing "school", swimming, reading, learning Bible verses and making good desserts! Our theme Bible verse (which Jake and Sarah have both memorized) is: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7.
Jake and Sarah both did a Texas bird report. They had to look through our bird books, pick a Texas species, draw it and give a brief presentation about things that bird eats, how it nests, where it migrates, etc.

Even Mr. Darcy likes summer school! :-)

Our next project was learning how to sew a hem stitch and a straight stitch. Jake and Sarah made old-fashioned "sock dolls" - although Jake calls his an "action figure"! The kids hand-sewed their dolls and the clothes they picked out for them.

Our summer days have been relaxing and fun. We are grateful for this time with Jake and Sarah before the hectic school year starts up. They are great kids and are already excited to have a baby brother in a few months. They lovingly "kiss" Jack goodnight and love to feel him move inside Kamie's belly. They will be a great big brother and sister!
Love you all!
Josh, Kam, Jake, Sarah and baby Jack
