George's Tenth Month

Georgie is only a few months away from turning one...and this tenth month has been a particularly fun one!

July was a tough month for George - he seemed especially fussy and irritable and wasn't as cheerful as he normally is. It dawned on me to return to a gluten-free diet to see if it would affect him favorably and the change was immediate and drastic! He's back to being our happy, smiley, good-natured baby!!! He's still strong-willed and lets us know when he is frustrated, but there is a general pleasantness about him now - the Gentle George we know!

He weighs 24 pounds now; all that moving around has evened him out a little on the weight gain. He eats only small amounts of regular foods, but seems to still like carrots, sweet potatoes, bits of meat and potatoes, and any treat within eyesight. The kids and Josh have to be careful to hide their sweets or else a little beggar will make his way over to them!

Grandma Barb came in on August 3rd and met her newest grandson for the first time. George loves his Grandma and smiles at her constantly. She was determined to teach him to wave "hi" and "bye" before she left, and she succeeded! (Now she's hoping to get him to clap before she leaves on the 17th!)

George loves to do anything his older siblings are doing. He enjoys patting Jack's head (and pulling hair if we don't catch him soon enough), he loves bobbing his head to music and recently, he discovered the fun of playing with Sarah's crocheted poncho squares she's been working on all summer! He entertains himself by tossing them ahead of him and crawling after them.

George is one big HAM! He smiles all the time, but more importantly, he enjoys making all of us smile and laugh. Some of his antics reduce Jack to falling to the ground in hysterics! You'll get a taste of one such thing in the final video!

We love him so much and are so grateful for the presence and joy he brings to our family each day! We'll have more summer photos to share in a few days.
