Daddy arrived home safely on Wednesday, October 17th and we all couldn't be happier! (See the first picture to get a hint of this!) We have one week together to enjoy fall in Ohio before we head back to warm Curacao on Thursday.
This weekend, we will be having a joint birthday celebration for Jack and George, so that Aunt Maddie and our Ohio cousins can participate. But the highlight was our family trip to Dennison, Ohio for their American Soldiers' Homecoming Festival celebrating the town's World War II train depot history. From 1942-1946, 1.3 million American soldiers transitted through the Dennison train station, where there was an active USO canteen and other things for the servicemen and women. The boys saw some neat train memorabilia, got free donuts from the USO lady, played 1940s carnival games, won a cake in a cake walk, had an old-fashioned picture taken (so cute!) and took an hour train ride on one of the original passenger trains through the Ohio countryside. To go along with the 1940s theme, we had a real train conductor, guests dressed in forties garb and USO personnel serving cookies on the train! It was so much fun and the boys loved it. We enjoyed the small-town atmosphere and the World War II heritage. So glad we found this tiny jewel of Ohio!

Not sure if Jack and Georgie could possibly look any happier than they do in the arms of their Daddy!Glad you ae all back together once again. The Train weekend looks like a memory wonder...so nice to think these type of events still go on...small town and quaint. Enjoy and keep those pictures coming!! Hugs and kisses!!
Glad to see the whole family back together :) Boys looked like they were in heaven! The picture of them in the helmets and the one of Jack behind the cut out could not be any cuter!! Miss those boys so much!
