Catching Up!

Well, I have fallen woefully behind in my blog posts....but I hope to catch up on the last few...very busy...weeks here! 

First, many of you know that we were back in Ohio at the end of April to help Josh's mom make the big move from the farm to Dayton, where she can be closer to family and not so isolated.  The farm has been a huge part of the Meyer family for almost 30 years...so it was hard for all of us to say goodbye.  We are thankful for the memories we have of Grandpa Terry and the farm!

It took two U-Hauls and LOTS of hard work to pack up and move! 

Barb's new home in Dayton is lovely and just right for her!  She is close to all that the town has to offer and lots of family and friends.  We are happy to know she is all settled in her new home! 

Our family then made our way back to Curacao.  The boys, as always, did exceptionally well and are clearly experts already in air and international travel! 

What made this trip a little unique was that we had an overnight stay in Panama City, Panama!  One more country to add to our list!  Our little blonde boys were a big hit in the Customs and Immigration hall and we heard, "Que bonito!" quite a bit as our boys smiled and waved like little celebrities!  One man kept pointing at Jack and repeatedly said, "Muy grande!" and asked how old he was.  When we answered, "He is four," the man exclaimed, "Muy grande como Larry Bird!"  :-)

We arrived at night, stayed in a hotel, had breakfast and left the next morning...so we didn't get to see much of Panama.  Someday, we'd like to go back and see the Panama Canal. 

It was good to arrive back "home" in Curacao and to our normal routine after spending two months travelling in the States. 

The boys were happy to resume their daily adventures of finding bugs and slugs...

...and reading lots of books.  Jack loves to read his Bible at night time, searching for "Words to Treasure" - memory verses listed on every few pages.  It is a wonderful thing to fall asleep with God's Word in our hearts!

And we've been blessed to be reunited with several of our friends here, who really do make Curacao feel like home for us.  This weekend, we visited with our dear adopted Oma and Opa, who recently returned from a few months' stay in the Netherlands.  They brought back a priceless gift for the boys - real Dutch wooden shoes!  The boys have worn them continually...even to outings and church!  We are told they are good for your feet, so maybe our boys will have nice strong feet!  Thank you, Oma and Opa! 

Now, we are waiting to see what the next step is for our family.  We would treasure your prayers as we wait to hear about several possible job opportunities for Josh back in the States.  If God calls us to stay here, we will do so joyfully and will make plans to have Jake and Sarah with us for the summer.  But if He calls us to something new, we are ready, too!  There are a lot of "what ifs" as we look ahead to the next few months before baby Joe's arrival, but we know God's timing is perfect and that He has always provided for us.  We look forward to seeing what He has planned!
