Keeping busy while we wait...

Josh arrived home safely on Monday and we have been enjoying our family time together so much! It was a long six weeks without him! Now, we are just waiting for Joe to make his appearance. (We really thought it might be Wednesday night/Thursday morning after I went through about twelve hours of fairly strong contractions...but Joe decided to keep "cooking" for a while longer!)

We took the boys to the hospital to get a tour of the Family Birthing Center so they could have an idea of where their baby brother will be born.  We are grateful to be already receiving great medical care at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center.
And this week we took a trip to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery - an absolutely wonderful place to take two inquisitive, busy boys!  George happily recognized the planets in this exhibit:
Josh thought it would be funny to compare my striped "orb" to that of a planet behind me.  (Ha, ha.)
Within the museum is a Discovery Zoo, with lots of really interesting critters!  George loved the meerkats!
The boys immediately recognized a groundhog and Josh called it the "luckiest groundhog in Ohio", remembering his days on the farm of shooting the destructive critters.
A chameleon...
A prehensile-tailed porcupine from South America...so bizarre!
George spotted the iguana right away and said, "Mommy, we see him at beach!"
But our favorite animals were the two river otters.  What personalities these little guys have! We would hide out of view of their window, and when we came into view again, they would run up to the window to interact with us.
Spotting a moray eel - something Jack has seen in the wild while snorkeling with Daddy.
Another huge hit with the boys was an area set up like a grocery store...
...and then a pizza kitchen modeled after a local favorite, Cassano's.
Both boys spent lots of time making their own pizza creations with cloth and Styrofoam "ingredients."
And the animal hospital...what a great idea!  The boys had such fun pretending to be vets!
An action shot of the boys in the color wall room.
George enjoyed digging up dinosaur bones...
...and both boys loved the Legos display.
This was really a neat outing.  Jack has requested to go back for his birthday.  It was a great way to spend a rainy day, while we wait for baby Joe!  Hopefully it won't be too much longer!

What a fun visit! That looks a TON like our local kids museum that we go to, so much fun. Tell Josh that just because he is home now, it is not okay to make fun of your cute growing planet! :)
