Baby Joe at 9 months!

Our baby is nine months old! I can't believe he's now been with us for as long as he was in the womb!

Joe continues to be just a light and a joy to all of us.  Many, many people have commented that he is the happiest baby they've ever seen.  And we concur.  :-)

At his 9-month check up, he weighed in at 24 pounds 7 ounces and is 30 1/2 inches long - both measurements pushing him over the 95% mark!  He is growing and developing well...sitting up on his own with confidence, standing on straight little legs, rolling and scooting all over.  He hasn't quite begun to crawl yet, but he is bound to any day now...especially trying to keep up with Jack and George.  He loves to clap his hands (especially when he sees Grandma), play peek-a-boo, read books and just be loved on.

We finally met with the ENT doctor and Joe is scheduled for ear tubes on July 14th.  The doctor called him a "slam dunk case for tubes"!  We are hoping these will help him feel better.  He often swats at his ears or pulls on them, so we know the fluid is bothering him.  We joke that once that issue is taken care of, he may just burst at the seams with happiness!

We had a great month - trip to Chicago for Mitch's fire academy graduation, welcoming Jake and Sarah for the summer, taking part in Vacation Bible School at church and now...preparing for a LONG road trip to Maine for a week of family vacation.  (Stay tuned for pictures from that trip!)

We hope you enjoy these photos of our smiley boy.  Sending hugs from Ohio!
