A Happy 4th of July

We had a nice time celebrating our country's history of freedom yesterday on the farm. Josh's cousin and his family came up for some good food and fireworks. The kids all had a blast, dressed in their patriotic garb. We decided to make a Mexican wedding cake to remember our wedding day three years ago...and Jake had the great idea to decorate it with coconut he died red and blue, so that the cake looked like one big fireworks display! It came out great and will be our new family tradition on 4th of July!
Grandma Barb bought Jack some cute tennis shoes the other day. Since he is standing much more and even beginning to take a few steps forward while holding onto Mommy's hands, shoes seem like a good idea. Jack thinks they are pretty neat, too. He keeps looking at them and moving his feet like he can't quite understand what is there! He looks like such a big boy with them on...not so much like a little baby anymore. :-( But, as long as he is bald, he'll still look like our little baby!

Our Jack loved waving the red, white and blue...and wearing his "All Fired Up" fireworks t-shirt! He also loved the fireworks display that Daddy and cousin Mitch set up! He watched each explosion and clapped afterward!

It was also good for Josh and I to celebrate our marriage of three years, and God's faithfulness to our family. He has been so good to us. We look forward to all the years ahead, loving each other and watching our family grow!

Hope you all had a nice holiday as well!

Love,
Josh, Kam, Jake, Sarah and Jack
