While family members and friends around the country are braving snow storms and temperatures in the teens, we are happy to say that Christmastime in Hawaii is proceeding as normal with temperatures in the 70s-80s, occasional rainy days (which almost always reward with a rainbow view) and lots of sunshine!
Here is a little glimpse into our life in Kauai leading up to Christmas. You'll see some of the holiday decor in our own home - please note the hand made cardboard star at the top of our small tree. This was made by Jack (and Mommy) after he saw an e-card Grammy sent us with a tree and a star. He noticed our tree didn't have a star and it thoroughly bothered him, so we made one! You'll also see us take a walk into old Koloa town, where we live. We are delighted that the community association put up a wooden Nativity scene on the main corner - Jack loved exploring it, looking at Baby Jesus and kissing a sheep! And, we threw some pictures of the Hawaiian Santa in there, too. We met a little girl who took an immediate liking to Jack - and he was proud to show off his baby brother to her. So cute!
So, warmth and love and sunshine from your Hawaiian family! Mele Kalikimaka!
