This week we had the blessing of spending one night and two days up at a cabin in the mountains owned by our church here. Hale Makana means "Gift House" and the sign outside promised God's rest for all who entered. And rest we received!
We had rain the entire first day, but for this family who never got a taste of cool winter weather, this was a welcome treat! The cabin was cozy and we had a fire in the fire place. Jack was delighted to find a tin of toys (including Woody and Bullseye, his favorites) and was happy the entire two days. We had no electricity, no phones, no TV, no computers, no radios...and it was heavenly.
Today we had a few moments of sunshine when the clouds and mist lifted and we had a beautiful view of the ocean! But only for a moment...then the mist returned with more rain. But with George on my back, Jack and I took a walk to see some of God's beautiful foliage - and it was breathtaking.
We are so grateful for this time of rest together as a family, in the middle of God's beautiful creation! It truly is a Gift House.

ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING! I know from being there, the foliage is like nothing I have ever seen! You do all things well...is an understatement! The LORD of ALL CREATION was so artistic and creative! I like the sweet faces of my grandsons that HE designed even more than the beautiful flowers!Glad you had such a nice, restful and refreshing time. Love and miss you all, Tutu
What a great place to get rejuvinated!
