Half a Year with Our George!

Six months ago today, our happy baby boy was born! Honestly, the time has gone by so quickly and he is already making so many strides away from babyhood, it makes me a bit sad. But it is hard to stay sad long with this joyful little guy!

We won't have his six month check up for another week, so we'll have to do a post script with his weight/height information. We do know he is big enough to have caused Mama a terrible back strain and that he has officially outgrown his infant car seat. He is wearing mostly twelve month clothes (though his UPF 50 wetsuit is 18 month size!) and wore his first shoes this month. Though, being the Hawaiian baby that he is, he prefers to be barefoot!

He took his frist bites of rice cereal and though we had minor success the first try, proceeding efforts were useless as he pursed his lips tightly and refused to eat. When I offered him something different (peas) he made an even stronger effort to resist food and actually got sick later on....so we'll wait a week or so before we try again.

George's vocal achievements are something to behold! He squeals, growls, coos, babbles, screams, laughs and makes us all laugh in return with his "music"!

George continues to adore his big brother and wants to do whatever he does. He wiggles and squirms on the floor to get to where Jack is or reach for his toys and we know it is only a matter of time before he is actually crawling. He loves to stand up and if he has even a slight grip on our hands, he will pull himself upright. Though he is mostly all smiles, he has a temper and gets very frustrated by his limitations. Right now he is in a very tiring phase of wanting to be held constantly (mostly so he can get a good look around at what is happening) and only taking about 20 minute naps during the day.

We hope you enjoy the video montage of our little guy. We caught a video of him coloring Jake's birthday card with a crayon and got some photos of Jack trying to put a Bandaid on his face after he bumped it and made George cry. (Jack ran to the bathroom himself when he heard me say the word "owie" and brought a Bandaid for George!)

We are so grateful for every day with our two busy blessings!

I love his laugh and noises! He is so sweet. Can't wait till all the cousins are together. I can't believe it has already been 6 months.
