We've had a few rainy days lately...perfect timing, since we just bought Jack a pair of rain boots that look like firefighter boots! ("Like Daddy!" he says.) Everytime he saw a picture of boots in a book, he asked for a pair of boots of his own. Living in Hawaii, it seemed like a silly thing to purchase...but they did NOT disappoint! :-)

Our Boys...will be boys!
During the past few days, our boys have had lots of chances to observe nature! Well, not just observe...but...EXPERIENCE it hands on! Both of them are so curious and are absolutely unafraid of dirt, mud, spiders, worms, lizards, tadpoles, waves, rain puddles, etc. We are grateful for their enthusiasm and curiosity!

One of his favorite spots to head to during a rain storm is the drainage ditch behind our house. We just let him have fun! (And Mommy cleaned him up really well afterward!)
(For some reason, I could not load this picture up horizontally. But his picture of contentment is priceless!)
On Monday, we went to one of our favorite north shore hangouts - Anini Beach. The boys love the ocean, as usual, but there is also a small stream nearby. Jack hikes over to it with his little fish net and has fun catching all sorts of things. We found frogs in all stages of their development from tadpoles. This was the largest tadpole:
And this little guy was the tiniest frog we've ever seen! It still had a small remnant of a tail, so it was new to hopping. George was mesmerized.
(Sadly, the little guy hopped to his death when he fell to the rocks below just after this photo.)
Jack eventually tossed the net to the side and patiently used his own hands to capture some treasures. He wanted to carry them around with him and even take some home. Maybe next time we will bring a jar so we can bring them home and watch them grow and change! I was amazed while watching him - he was so patient and still and used his fine motor skills and pincer grasp so efficiently for such a little boy!
George was eager to crawl right into the tadpole-infested waters himself...but Mommy wasn't ready to let him get too dirty just yet! Both boys had a blast. We look forward to watching their interests in God's world around them grow each day!

Love it! Such boys! Luke and Ben can't wait to explore with Jack and George in a few months!
Oh man, Jack and George will have to teach their Aunt Reagan how to play with boys in preparation for Baby Nate. Although, I think Tessa would enjoy these escapades just as much. Love you guys.
Love the pictures!!! Nothing better than spashing in muddy water.
Too cute! What little men they are! Great pictures :) Love and miss those little faces!
