"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." I Corinthians 15:3-4

As a family, we have made the decision to fully celebrate what Christ has done for us during the Easter season, avoiding that which might distract us from that purpose. No baskets, candy, bunnies for us. In fact, even Jack, at the tender age of 3, seems to have a depth to him that draws him to Christ. He spotted this "Last Supper" plaque on a discount table at the home goods store we went to on Thursday...an appropriate day to find it, as it was the night Jesus ate His last meal with the disciples.

We have it in the center of our table, to remember Jesus breaking the bread and pouring the wine - HIMSELF - for us.

Last year, you may recall that we made Resurrection Rolls with Jack - placing a marshmallow inside a crescent roll to symbolize Jesus being wrapped in cloths...then placed in the stove (the tomb), baked and when the tomb is opened....Jesus is not there, only His clothes remain! It is a great visual for little ones. This year, we found another activity to focus our hearts on the meaning of Resurrection Sunday. It is my spin-off of an idea my mom sent from a blog she found. (Thanks, Mom!) Jack knows the story of Jesus fairly well already, so the first time he opened each egg and found a piece of the story tucked inside, he joyfully exclaimed, "Jesus!!!" The boys have enjoyed hiding and finding these eggs and Jack and I go through the story in pictures.

Good Friday is a national holiday here, so everything is very quiet and solemn. There are no sounds of construction or men at work in our neighborhood....just the birds and the wind. And, appropriately, many flowers have come into full bloom, reminding us of our Savior and the new life He provided for us.

We pray that you all might pause and reflect on this day, and this weekend, and ponder "What Wondrous Love Is This?" Jesus has loved you enough to go through unimaginable torture, pain, separation from God....in order to take our sins upon Himself and reconcile us to God, the Father. We are so greatful for that steadfast, never-ending love. May the Lord bless you as you remember His death and resurrection!

Kam, You would be an amazing Sunday School Teacher! I'm just saying.... Love and miss you
Even your little children's drawings on scrap paper are pieces of art!! I don't really know why that still shocks me. How blessed those two litle boys are to have parents like you who teach them the true meaning of each holiday from the beginning. Love & miss you so much!
