Jack the Fish

Okay...so, our athletic, adventurous 3 1/2 year old has decided, very matter-of-factly, that he can swim! Within two weeks, he went from sitting on the steps and only going in further when holding onto me or Josh, to wearing water wings (since he saw his 5 1/2 year old buddy Ezra swim with them) to suddenly....swimming! His style is absolutely priceless...arms to his side and rear end up in the air, kicking wildly! He loves wearing goggles and even licks them and cleans them like a real competitive swimmer! A few days ago, he also decided he enjoys jumping from the side of the pool.

We are amazed to see how quickly he's come to love the water. I guess it isn't much of a surprise since most of his life he's lived in warm climates close to the ocean! Now we just have to watch that he isn't TOO confident in the water.
